What led to the shooting in Orlando?
According to several reports, two Spectrum News 13 reporters were covering the shooting death of a local woman hours prior to this occurrence. According to NPR, when a 20-year-old woman was shot, deputies went to the Pine Hills area first.
The sheriff said, “Moses was an acquaintance of the woman this morning, but as far as we know, he had no relationship with the reporters, the mother, or the 9-year-old.” WFTV workers, who were also covering the event, were attending to the Spectrum 13 reporters. According to NPR, one of them died and the other is in a serious condition.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre expressed sadness in a tweet, writing, “Our sympathies go out to the family of the journalist assassinated today and the crew member injured in Orange County, Florida, as well as the whole Spectrum News team.”
Keith Melvin Moses: who is he?
The sheriff mentioned Moses and stated, “For now, the suspect is not speaking much. It’s difficult to determine if he had this news crew in mind. Again, all of it will be included in our study. The truck doesn’t exactly strike me as a news vehicle, but there was a photographer on the scene, so anything is conceivable.”
Moses has a significant criminal past, the sheriff added. The sheriff explained that the suspect, who is 19 years old, has a significant criminal history that includes arrests for burglary, grand theft, aggravated battery, and assault with a deadly weapon.
