When Daniel who is a filmmaker hailing from Alabama received his third Oscar for a film named Everything Everywhere All at Once, he thanked a number of people. The list of people whose names were mentioned in Daniel’s speech included his teacher Kay Dummier.

Who is Kay Dummier?
Kay Dummier has served in the post of a school teacher in Alabama for more than 30 years. Now she is retired and was overwhelmed when her student and filmmaker Daniel Scheinert thanked her. According to Daniel, Kay Dummier was among those educators who changed his life and inspired him to pursue filmmaking.
Kay is the only teacher of Elementary school whose name was mentioned in Daniel’s speech. She taught Daniel when he was in fourth grade at Oak Mountain Elementary School. Kay took retirement a decade ago and now she is enjoying life with her family. She is taking part-time classes for school these days.
Ray said, ‘this is a wonderful thing to see Daniel highlighting public school teachers. I often see telecasts of Oscars but I have never seen anybody doing this.’
Other teachers that were thanked by the filmmaker were from Shades Valley High School and International Baccalaureate School.
Daniel Scheinert
Daniel Scheinert hails from Alabama, United States, and he was born in 1987 on 7 June. Daniel is 35 years old presently and he has been a part of TV shows like Minor Stars and Spectators. He has been nominated for a number of awards. Recently he received an Academy Award for best directing, an Academy Award for best picture, and others at the Academy Awards 2023.
All these awards were won by his film Everything Everywhere All at Once which he directed with Daniel Kwan. Both these directors are together known as Daniel’s. This was their second film together as earlier they made the 2016 film Swiss Army Man. This comedy film was also a hit.
