Some even claim that Mary has been posting pictures of her new boyfriend Hitesh on social media, describing him as a business associate. Kom’s business partner and Chairman of the Mary Kom Foundation, Hitesh Choudhary, who is being linked with the Olympic-winning boxer, has also shared several photographs with Mary Kom, further fueling the rumours. Choudhary is a cricketer by profession who is now handling business with Mary Kom.

Shortly after Onler’s defeat in the 2022 Manipur assembly elections, the Hindustan Times reported that the boxing legend and her spouse are no longer together. While Onler has been residing in Delhi with a few family members, Mary relocated to Faridabad with their four children.

According to sources, Mary Kom and her husband Karung Onkholer are currently living apart, presumably as a result of personal conflicts and setbacks after the Manipur elections in 2022 which ended in Mary losing Rs.2-3 crore after her husband lost. The pair is apparently going through a challenging time in their relationship, even though neither side has publicly commented.

Onler was initially reluctant to enter politics and it was Mary’s idea. “He didn’t want to contest and had warned her that Manipur’s political landscape was volatile at the time,” a source said, adding, “After the defeat, things worsened. Their usual marital disagreements turned serious, and Mary moved into her Faridabad house with the kids.”

Sources close to Onler claim that he is struggling with limited access to their children. “He’s heartbroken. He has always been a devoted father and gave up his football career to support Mary and raise their kids. Now he’s unable to meet them, and it’s taken a toll on him emotionally. It is no secret that he put his career on hold so that Mary could build hers,” says the source as per Hindustan Times.

Onler, a footballer and a lawyer by education, chose to put his career on hold so that he could raise their kids and take care of the house.

Mary Kom met K Onler Om when traveling to Punjab for the National Games, and Onkholer, who was then a law student at Delhi University’s Law University and the president of the North East students’ organization, helped her after her bags were lost.

Mary and Onler’s first meeting  came in 2000, when Onler, a student in Delhi, helped Mary after she lost her luggage. Onler, a former footballer, set aside his dreams to focus of playing football on supporting Mary and raising their children.
