The 17-year-old Frisco resident Karmelo Anthony was named as the culprit in the deadly stabbing of Austin Metcalf, 17, at a track meet in Texas
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Frisco Police named Karmelo Anthony as the suspect and verified that he had been placed under arrest. Anthony has been charged with first-degree murder, according to the statement, and no bond has been set as of yet.

The victim, identified as Metcalf, was an 11th grader at Memorial High School and investigation revealed that an altercation between two students resulted in one stabbing the other at a track event at Kuykendall Stadium, in the northern Frisco suburb of Dallas, Texas.
The suspect, 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony of Frisco, was arrested and charged with Murder, a 1st Degree Felony and no bond has been set at this time.
According to Anthony’s Kudl profile, he is a student at Centennial High School where he played for the Titans Varsity football team and is listed as five feet 11 inches, 160 pounds and as part of the class of 2025. The biography on his profile reads: “GOD has shown you the right path just take it.”
“This is an active and ongoing investigation with resources from FPD’s School Resource Division, Patrol Division, and Criminal Investigations Division devoted to it,” the statement read.
The stabbing incident, according to Frisco Police, started as a disagreement between two students, and the police received their initial reports at around ten in the morning. A teen who had been stabbed was discovered by responding authorities.
He was critically injured and eventually declared dead after being transported to a hospital. The teen was identified as Austin Metcalf in a number of social media posts from the Frisco community.

Age 17 Austin Metcalf was a standout player for the Frisco Memorial High School Memorial Warriors football team in addition to being a student there. He also competed in track and field events. Anthony, who was to graduate in the Class of 2026, was a 6’0″, 225-pound middle linebacker and fullback for Frisco Memorial, according to his Hudl profile.
Austin was remembered as a standout linebacker, team MVP, and a 4.0 GPA student who aspired to play college football and a GoFundMe launched by his father describes Austin as “a bright young man with a great future ahead.”
Jeff Metcalf, a realtor, describes himself as a “single dad who loves his sons more than anything” as per his Facebook profile. Austin’s mother was Meghan with him having a twin brother named Hunter as well.
An investigation showed that two students got into a fight, and one of them stabbed the other.
In a letter to the parents of his classmates, Brook Fesco, the principal of Metcalf’s school, stated that they will recognize Austin’s passing tomorrow morning during second period and provide support all day long. Counselors from the district and the university will be on hand to help your youngster deal with the loss.
Metcalf further added, “As a parent, your guidance and support will be important in helping your child process grief. Talking about this together, face-to-face, will give you a chance to discuss how your family understands and copes with loss.”
