IIT Delhi student Kalash Gupta won the world’s largest coding contest TCS CodeVita by defeating over 100,000 students from 87 countries, know his LinkedIn and Instagram account
An Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi student has won a renowned international coding competition. Kalash Gupta has been named the winner of TCS CodeVita, a computer programming competition in which more than 1 lakh kids from 87 countries competed.

The world’s largest computer programming competition, CodeVita, is a Guinness World Record holder. Season 10 of CodeVita drew over 100,000 students from 87 countries and had one of the most challenging finales in the contest’s history, according to Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
Gupta said his confidence rose as the competition went on after learning of his great win. He added,
It’s unbelievable! When I started with the contest, I never thought I would even be in the top 3 but this is a very humbling experience.
Since then, lots of people congratulated him including Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on various social media platforms. He was also facilitated by his institute. Who Is Kalash Gupta?
Kalash Gupta is a resident of Delhi who recently went famous for winning season 10 of TCS CodeVita with him taking home R.7.76 lakhs for the win.
He is a student of IIT Delhi. He is in his third year of computer science and engineering degree with him aged 20 years. In 2018, he also placed third nationally in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) for admission to the IITs. He was at the top in the whole of Delhi and its adjacent region.
Several notable scholarships have also been bestowed on him. He was named a National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) Scholar by the Indian government in 2016. He was awarded the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) by the Indian Institute of Science in 2017. He was awarded the Aditya Birla Scholarship in 2018 which was given out by the Aditya Birla Group.
As per his LinkedIn account, he had done several internships. He had done an internship with NK Securities Research as a quantitative trading intern. After this, he went on to do an internship with Tower Research Capital as a quantitative trading intern. Most recently, he had done an internship with Hong Kong-based Jane Street as a quantitative trading intern.
His Reward
The competition’s winner, Kalash Gupta will take home the ultimate reward of $10,000. Chilean and Taiwanese students were the first and second runners-up, respectively. As the first runner-up, Mauricio Andres Cari Leal of Chile received $7,000, while Jeffrey Ho of Taiwan received $3,000.
The winners have also been offered an internship at TCS’ Research & Innovation organization in addition to the prize money.
