Darius Miles charged with capital murder in Jamea Harris Shooting

Darius Miles, a former basketball player for Alabama, was involved in the event in question. Miles is one of two men charged with capital murder in the shooting death of Harris. Police think Miles’ friend Michael Davis pulled the trigger and got the gun from Miles.

At a hearing in February, a Tuscaloosa police detective said that Alabama basketball star Brandon Miller got a text message from Miles telling him to bring Miles’ gun to the place where the crime would happen. Miller’s lawyer says that when that text was sent, Miller was already on his way to pick up Miles. Jaden Bradley, a freshman point guard for Alabama, was also there.

Miller and Bradley haven’t been charged with a crime, and the police see them as helpful witnesses.

As of Thursday night, the New York Times story was still online, but it had been updated to include some of what the people involved had to say.
