Kade Eggum, an Eagan police officer, was seriously hurt in a crash on Tuesday, March 14, when he was going to help someone in trouble
After the crash, Kade Eggum was in critical but stable condition. He had just joined the police force a little over a year before.
The Minnesota State Patrol says that Kade Eggum’s car went from Pilot Knob Road onto northbound Interstate 15E. The police cruiser was in the right lane of 35E with its emergency lights on.

Eggum tried to turn left at the median crossover on Yankee Doodle Road, but he crashed into a semi-truck that was going north. Before the police SUV came to rest in the middle of the motorway, it was hit on the passenger side by a third car.
Kade Eggum, who was 22 years old, had to be cut out of the car and taken to Regions Hospital in an ambulance. The semi-truck driver and the driver of the third car were not hurt in the crash. Eggum went to high school in New Prague, Minnesota. He and his girlfriend, Rebecca, were going to get married in July.

Since the accident, many people have said nice things about Eggum. On Thursday, the Eagan police said that he is still in critical but stable condition and is showing signs of getting better. People on Twitter have also sent Eggan well wishes as a kind gesture.
“Drove by the accident on the way to work,” a local wrote on Kade Eggum. “Praying as I drove by that everyone would be okay. Heal fast, Officer Kade.”

Also a second person wrote to his family to wish them well: “Our family is praying for Officer Eggum and his family! Thank you all for your service.”ย “My prayers are with all those involved and hoping for a speedy and complete recovery,” said someone else.
“Thoughts and prayers for his loved ones and all who know him,” one tweeted. “Officer Eggum is a genuine kind officer who helped my older sister and shared kind words with her.”
