Kevin Willard, the men’s basketball coach of Maryland, departed the program to take a position at Villanova, who made the announcement on Sunday morning.
University of Maryland President Darryll J. Pines praised Kevin Willard and the team for an exciting run to the Sweet 16 and stated administrators did everything they could to keep Willard on board in a statement released just hours after Villanova’s announcement.
“I need to make fundamental changes to the program,” Willard said at the time. “That’s what I’m focused on right now. That’s why probably a deal hasn’t got done (to stay with the program) because I want to see, I need to see fundamental changes done. I want this program to be great. I want it to be the best in the country. I want to win a national championship, but there’s things that need to change.”

She has worked at Wildcat Creek Golf Course since April 2011 and earned a United States Golf Teachers Federation license as a Golf Teaching Professional and before making golf a profession, Wagner had a flourishing career at Delphi Electronics & General Motors for 13 years in Kokomo.
Wagner won numerous amateur titles and two Howard County championships during his 13 years at Delphi Electronics & General Motors before becoming a golf teacher.
