Lewis, who is a five-star prospect, has long been a target of head coach Deion Sanders and his staff. Sanders strongly sees him as a replacement for current CU quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Upon his arrival this spring, Lewis will have to fight for a starting spot, but notably has a bright future ahead.

Julian Lewis at Colorado University
Colorado’s transition from Shedeur Sanders to Lewis figures to be relatively seamless. Lewis possesses many of the same qualities that Sanders is showcasing for the Buffs right now, namely passing accuracy and football IQ.
Here’s what 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins recently wrote on Lewis:
Overall, projects as a new-age point guard that can push the tempo in a modern spread attack with his pin-point accuracy and savvy decision making. Smaller stature is not ideal but has the skills and confidence to win games on Saturdays – and potentially right away.
