Authorities have identified Shane Tamura as the NYC shooter who stormed the 345 Park Avenue skyscraper just before 6:30 p.m. Tamura reportedly opened fire and fatally shot three civilians and a police officer. As panic echoed through the upper floors, police officers quickly evacuated the building and later discovered Tamura’s body on the 33rd floor, where he had apparently taken his own life.
Shane Devon Tamura, 27, went into 345 Park Ave. in midtown just after the end of business Monday armed with an M4 rifle and opened fire in the lobby and again on the 33rd floor before he eventually killed himself with having a documented mental health history.

The attack took place when the shooter, Tamura, stormed into the 33rd floor of the Park Avenue skyscraper and started shooting. The attacker was reportedly aiming for the NFL’s office on a lower floor but ended where Rudin Management’s offices are located after taking the wrong elevator. Julia was an associate at the firm, and she was reportedly shot and killed on-site. According to NYPD officials, Tamura killed three more people before eventually turning the weapon on himself.
