In one of the shows, he stated,’ I began a hotel business in my hometown and all was going well but suddenly my friend took my phone and called a random girl and that matter became serious. A huge controversy was created and people started judging my character and started blaming me. But my father supported me and they supported me as they knew that I can’t do anything like this.’

Jugaadu Kamlesh’s family, education, and career

Jugaadu Kamlesh finished his schooling at NS Deshmukh Vidyalya Chikhal O,  Malegaon, Maharashtra. He further dropped out of his degree which he was pursuing in BCA in 2nd year from Maharaja Sayajirao Gaikwad College, Malegaon, Maharashtra. Jugaadu’s height is 5 feet 7 inches and his weight is approximately 70 kg as of 2023.

Jugaadu Kamlesh is a well-known Indian Farmer and he owns an agriculture product company named KG, agrotech. Kamlesh appeared as one of the pitchers in the TV show, Shark Tank in 2022 for getting an investment from sharks for his dream Pesticide trolley cart. Kamlesh’s father is a farmer and he has an elder brother named Nilesh Gumare, who is serving as an army officer for the Indian army.

Jugaadu Kamlesh began working as a farmer along with his father and one day he saw that the pesticides they used to spray on the crops were causing serious health issues.

It took around 7 years for him to make a trolley cart for pesticides. In 2012, he uploaded a video on YouTube of his trolley cart which went viral. Kamlesh got numerous offers from different companies but he rejected them. But in 2021, he got an opportunity in the television show, Shark Tank.

He is yet to sell any products commercially but he shared that they are planning to sell 2000 pieces in this first year and after collecting feedback from farmers based on those sales.

“I’m delighted to share the first significant update on Kamlesh and his startup KG Agrotech (now a Pvt. Ltd. firm). It took a lot of hard work, research, travel, failures, learnings, and four-iterations to get here.

“Our first go-to-market version is ready and we are calling it Bharat-K2 (to signify the second version as the original was what was presented in the tank). We are hitting production with this version and the first batch of saleable carts will be on the ground within 60 days,” shared Bansal on LinkedIn informing about the product.

While none of the other sharks invested in the product, Bansal invested ₹10 lakh for 40% equity along with a flexible no-interest loan of ₹20 lakh to be repaid in small amounts after Ghumare starts earning profit from his company.

Ghumare claims that the cart offers a 4x advantage over the current pesticide sprayers — saving nearly 12 hours of the farmer’s time and also said that after selling 2,000 pieces of the machine, he will take farmers’ feedback and improve the cart further, if required. The manufacturing cost of one cart is ₹20,000 and he plans to sell one for ₹25,000.
