Tulika Maan is a famous Indian judoka who was born on September 9, 1998, in Jharoda Kalan, New Delhi. She currently competes in the +78 kg weight class and is set to represent India at the Paris 2024 Olympics. She is currently 25 years old and gained prominence after winning the silver medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Back in 2022, Maan ranked No. 91 in the Judo World Rankings.

Tulika Maan attended Kendriya Vidyalaya school in Tagore Garden, New Delhi and later attended Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University, in Uttar Pradesh.
Family
Tulika was born to parents Satbir Maan and Amrita Maan. Satbir worked as a bus driver while Amrita was a sub-inspector. Tulika has a sister named Vanshika Maan. Sadly, Satbir was murdered when Tulika was just 2 years old. As a result, Tulika grew up under her mother’s care, who worked as a constable in a police station in Rajouri Garden, New Delhi.
Career
It was Tulika’s mother who first enrolled her in a judo club as a pass time activity. However, Tulika started taking it seriously and her mother eventually spent all her pension funds and also took some loans to help finance her daughter’s judo training.
Tulika eventually joined to the Sports Authority of India Centre in Bhopal in 2016. Tulika notably won her first major win at a tournament back in 2016, when she won a silver medal at the India U21 Championships, in Saifai. The following year in 2017, she won a bronze medal at the Asian U21 Championships, Bishkek. That same year, she won a gold medal at the India Championships, Chennai.
Tulika Maan won several medals in 2018. She first won a bronze medal at the Asian U21 Championships, in Beirut and then a gold medal at the Asian Cup U21, Macau. She also won a gold at the India Championships, Jammu and another gold at the India U21 Championships, Jalandhar. Tulika also won a bronze medal at the Taipei Asian Open.
