BJP RSS members yesterday attacked women in Pune.
This was during the Nirbhay Bano conference where Mr. Nikhil Wagle was going to address people.

The incident took place as Wagle was traveling to the Rashtra Seva Dal-organized ‘Nirbhay Bano’ function, protected by the police. Even after the attack, he arrived at the location, forgiving his assailants and stating that it was the eighth time he had experienced something identical.
A dispute between Wagle and the BJP-Shiv Sena members occurred after a charge was previously filed against Wagle for allegedly making derogatory statements. The incident follows Wagle’s social media comments on Modi and Advani after the Bharat Ratna announcement.

Who is Nikhil Wagle?
Nikhil Wagle is an Indian journalist known for his critical views on the government. He has been in the news because he was recently attacked by BJP workers after he made derogatory comments about PM Modi and LK Advani.
He was born on 23 April 1959 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He identifies himself as an atheist.
Wagle is a surname that occurs in multiple cultures and it is one of the common surnames from Coastal Karnataka, Goan region of India and is found to be one of the surname/family name (Upanama) amongst the Konkani Saraswat Brahmin (Mostly Rajapur Saraswat Brahmins and Goud Saraswat Brahmins).
Nikhil Wagle is married and his wife is Meena Karnik, a journalist and Aam Aadmi Party media cell leader.
He is currently 64 years old.
His career
Veteran journalist Nikhil Wagle began his career as a freelance writer in 1977 and advanced fast to the position of managing editor at the Marathi Newsweekly Dinank. He established his publishing company in 1982 and launched periodicals like Shatkar, Chanderi, and Akshar.

Wagle faced adversity due to his criticism of Shiv Sena, leading to multiple attacks on his office. As a TV anchor since 1989, Wagle joined Network 18 in the mid-2000s, becoming editor-in-chief of IBN Lokmat. He left his position as Aajcha Sawal’s host in July 2014. In November 2016, he quit Maharashtra 1 news channel after working there for a short time.
On TV9 Marathi, Wagle started the discussion program “Sadetod” in May 2017. However, on July 20, 2017, the show was abruptly canceled.
