On Tudum India on Saturday, the creators of the thriller “Scoop,” which stars Karishma Tanna, Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub, Harman Baweja, Deven Bhojani, Tannishtha Chatterjee, and Tejasvini Kolhapure, released a teaser.
Because ‘Scoop’ was based on the autobiographical book by journalist and crime reporter Jigna Vora, ‘Behind The Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison,’ which details her experiences after being charged with another reporter’s murder, the flick has become an instant talk of the town.

Who Is Jigna Vora?
Jigna Vora was once an aspirational homicide detective, but when she is accused of the horrific murder of another reporter and is imprisoned among people she formerly covered, her world comes tumbling down. She has been in the news because renowned filmmaker Hansal Mehta is now going to tell her story through a new crime thriller “Scoop.”
She covered the criminal beat as a journalist for Asian Age. She worked hard and rose to the position of deputy bureau head in the Mumbai office of the Asian Age.
She also wrote a renowned book named, ‘Behind The Bars In Byculla: My Days in Prison,’ which is based on her own experiences in jail.
She is a single mother and has one child in her family. Presently, she is 48 years old.
What Did She Do?
Jigna Vora was one of the two main suspects in the murder of Mid-Day reporter Jyotirmoy Dey. She was detained by the police at the age of 37 together with infamous criminal Chota Rajan.
Chota Rajan allegedly tasked her with providing crucial information regarding Dey, including his address and the bike’s license plate number.
According to Rajan, murdering Dey was motivated by “professional rivalry” and was carried out at Vora’s behest. Sachin Kalbag, the Mid-Day executive editor at the time, refuted Rajan’s assertions, saying that Vora is too junior to Dey to be in a rivalry.
On July 27, 2012, Vora received a bail release. She was given bail because, according to PTI, she was a single parent and had a child to take care of.
After years of being accused, former crime reporter Jigna Vora was cleared of all charges on May 2 by a special court because there was no “trustworthy evidence” against her.
