The Suns have officially hired former Cleveland Cavaliers assistant coach Jordan Ott as their new head coach. The move comes following the team’s underwhelming 36-46 record and an 11th-place finish in the Western Conference. After letting go of Mike Budenholzer, the Suns are now bringing in a younger and forward-thinking coach.

Jordan Ott is an American professional basketball coach who has steadily risen through the NBA ranks over the past few years. He was born on May 20, 1985, in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, and initially started out as a video room analyst. He has since worked his way up as a respected coach. Jordan Ott is currently 40 years old and has a high basketball IQ and immense experience working under multiple successful head coaches.

Jordan Ott started out his NBA coaching journey back in 2013 as a video coordinator for the Atlanta Hawks under head coach Mike Budenholzer. During his six years in Brooklyn, he worked under Kenny Atkinson, Jacque Vaughn, and Steve Nash, playing a key role in player development and game strategy.
Later in 2022, Ott moved to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he served as an assistant coach under Darvin Ham. Two years later, in 2024, Jordan Ott joined the Cleveland Cavaliers as an assistant coach under Kenny Atkinson.
