Know the age, husband and family of BJP Goalpara secretary Jonali Nath
The Crime Investigation Department (CID) Assam reported on Monday that the accused, Hasanur Islam, and the victim, Jonali Nath, had been having an illicit relationship for the previous two years just hours after making the first arrest in the BJP leader’s death case.

The deceased, Jonali Nath, hailed from Matia village in Goalpara and her husband had been trying to reach her in the evening but found her dead. She had an affair with Hasanur and is survived by her husband and two children. While her DOB isn’t known, she is aged between 35-50 years.
The family of the deceased, Jonali Nath, alleged that it was a planned murder.
The murder’s perpetrator has accepted responsibility.

The accused has admitted that he killed the woman and placed her body on the National Highway on Sunday night, according to DIG Assam CID Debraj Upadhyaya, who spoke at the news conference held here in Guwahati. Despite being engaged to another lady, the victim had an unlawful connection with the accused for the previous two years.
The victim indicated her willingness to meet with him once to talk about this and their relationship. So, he went to see her, and they met in a car. After a violent altercation between the two, the accused gave her a rough beating on the neck before grabbing her by the neck and strangling her to death. The forensic doctors have verified the same.
According to the CID official, the accused abandoned her body close to a major highway after realising she was bleeding and losing consciousness. It has come to light that the defendant told the station commander of the regional police station that he wished to avoid the woman prior to committing the crime.
The bigger picture
Even though it has come to light that just the accused Hasanur Islam was engaged in the murder case, the CID is still looking into it. Hasanur Islam, the proprietor of a clothing store in the Goalpara district’s Matia Bazar neighbourhood, was detained earlier today in relation to the investigation. It should be highlighted that the BJP leader’s body, Jonali Nath, was found on National Highway No. 17 close to Shalpara, Krishnai.
According to sources, unidentified criminals killed her, dumped her body on the national highway, and then fled the scene. On Sunday night, people discovered the body, and they immediately alerted authorities. She had several damage marks on her body, which suggested that she had been brutally attacked before dying. Locals claim that Nath was last seen on Sunday afternoon at a market.
