Who Is Jess Chatwin, Late Footballer Cody Fisher’s Girlfriend
Cody Fisher was dating Jess Chatwin. 23-year-old Fisher was fatally murdered on the dance floor of a Birmingham nightclub on December 26, 2022, and Chatwin stated she didn’t know how she was going to live life without him because he was her whole world. While her age isn’t known, she is aged between 20-22 years.
“My poor baby. I’m so sorry this has happened to you. My whole world, the love of my life, my best friend has been taken away from me. I don’t know how I’m going to do life without you Code. There is so much we will never get the chance to do now. This doesn’t feel real. I love you forever Cody Fisher,” Chatwin inscribed on social media post.
She posted a picture of the two having cocktails before Fisher’s untimely death in a different Instagram story. According to the Daily Star UK, defender Fisher, who played for several football clubs, including Stratford Town FC, also left behind grieved family members and friends who praised him as “the purest soul” and a “wonderful boy.”
Police were called to The Crane nightclub in Digbeth, Birmingham, just before 11.45 p.m. on Boxing Day due to reports of a man being stabbed. Before being stabbed on the dance floor, Fisher was “approached by a gang of people,” according to the investigators.
The DJ reportedly stopped performing, and large screens all across the club showed a warning message. Approximately 30 minutes after the police were summoned, the man was declared dead despite the best efforts of the medical team. Police are still requesting any information from the public that can help with their investigation.
Meanwhile, two men have been detained on suspicion of his murder. On Wednesday, two men were taken into custody: one, 21, was taken into custody in London, while the other, 22, was taken into custody in Birmingham’s downtown. According to West Midlands police, they were detained and will be questioned on the suspicion of murder.
