The 15-game streak Hackett has is one of the shortest in NFL history. He oversaw a 4-11 record for the Broncos. However, the season is still ongoing. Denver still has two more contests. And Jerry Rosburg, who was promoted to temporary coach, will now serve as the team’s new boss. What you should know about Denver’s incoming coach is as follows.

Jerry Rosburg: Who is he?

Rosburg has reached the top of the football coaching food chain, capping up a 40-year journey. The 67-year-old was a standout athlete at North Dakota State in the middle of the 1970s, but as soon as he graduated, he began a coaching career.

Born on November 24, 1955, Rosburg began his coaching career in 1979 in Shanley High School, where he was an assistant coach for a year with him joining the Broncos as an assistant earlier this year. His contract and salary details are not known.

Upon joining the Broncos, Nathaniel Hackett ,meanwhile signed a contract that paid a salary of $4 million per year.

When Rosburg joined the faculty of Northern Illinois in 1981 as a graduate assistant, he finally broke into the college game. Rosburg, a former linebacker, went on to coach linebackers at Western Michigan and Cincinnati. He became a well-rounded coach with a preference for managing special teams.

He arrived in the NFL thanks to that speciality. In 2001, the Browns hired him as their special team coordinator. Rosburg eventually got a house in Baltimore. He played with the Ravens for 11 years, during which time he assisted them in their 2012 Super Bowl victory. Rosburg retired in 2018, only to come back to the field in 2022 as a senior assistant with the Broncos to assist Hackett with clock management.

Not much of an impact was made by the addition. With quarterback Russell Wilson performing below average, Hackett’s Broncos offence struggled to find consistency. Instead of a 67-year-old rookie, many onlookers would have loved to see Ejiro Evero, the Broncos’ defensive coordinator, promoted. Evero has assembled a shutdown team this season. However, that didn’t occur. Instead, Rosburg will be in control as Denver tries to avoid a gloomy 2022.
