Jeremiah Collins was more than just a football player
Jeremiah Collins wasn’t just any freshman player. He graduated from Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, just this spring and had already showcased his talents prominently. Having played for Tennessee’s Murfreesboro Oakland during his senior year, Collins significantly contributed to the team’s success, helping the Patriots secure their third consecutive Class 6A state championship in 2022.
Although Collins initially had plans to play collegiate football for Louisville, he eventually chose Austin Peay, where his presence was highly anticipated.

According to an official statement from the Metro Nashville Police, Collins met with the tragic accident while driving a 2004 GMC Canyon pickup truck. The young player was speeding near the Austin Peay campus in Clarksville, Tennessee. The severity of the accident led to Collins being rushed to the nearest hospital, but he couldn’t be saved and succumbed to his injuries.
