On the final day of the National Junior Athletics Championships in 2023, Virendra Yadav broke the junior national record in the U-16 men’s javelin with a best throw of 69.45 metres.
With a javelin throw of 69.54 metres, Virendra Yadav set a new record, the Bihar State Sports Authority Director General Ravindran Shankaran was so overwhelmed and hopeful for future. He said, as per Indiapostsen.com:
