The F41 category is specifically for athletes of short stature, providing them with a competitive platform. Singh’s triumph is a significant milestone for India in Paralympic history.

Why was Beit Sayah Sadegh Disqualified?

For those wondering, Sayah’s disqualification was due to repeatedly displaying an objectionable flag, resulting in his removal from the final standings.

After Navdeep Singh’s silver medal was upgraded from silver to gold, the silver medal was awarded to Sun Pengxiang, who had a best throw of 44.72 m.

Followed by Iraq’s Nukhailawi Wildan, who claimed the bronze with a throw of 40.46 m. Initially, Sayah had set a new Paralympic record with his second-last throw, but his conduct led to his disqualification.

Paralympic Committee Rule

As per the International Paralympic Committee rules, athletes are prohibited from making any kind of political gestures during competition or any event, and Sayah was disqualified for unsporting and improper conduct.
