Man charged following incident at Windsor Castle on Christmas Day
Jaswant Singh Chail, 20 from Southampton, was charged on Tuesday 2 August with:

Jaswant Singh Chail from Southampton, who identified himself as “Indian Sikh”, was also charged with threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon, which was a crossbow. Chail was charged under Section 2 of the 1842 Treason Act.
He’s currently in police custody. Chail is all set to appear in the Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London on August 17.
According to a report by the National News, The Metropolitan Police said in their statement, “Following an investigation by the Met Police Counter Terrorism Command, a man has been charged with offenses in relation to an incident within the grounds of Windsor Castle on Christmas Day last year”.
Who is Jaswant Singh Chail?
Jaswant Singh Chail is from Southampton in southern England. He was sectioned under the Mental Health Act after he threatened to kill the Queen on Christmas last year.
After the incident, his father, Jasbir Singh Chail had an interview with DailyMail, where he said, “Something’s gone horribly wrong with our son and we are trying to figure out what.
We’ve not had a chance to speak to him but are trying to get him the help he needs. From our perspective, we are going through a difficult time. We are trying to resolve this issue and it’s not easy”.
Jaswant Singh Chail, reportedly grew up in a $600,000 semi-detached house located on a private estate and he’s believed to have sent a Snapchat video of him posing with a crossbow to his friends on the photo-sharing app 24 minutes before he was apprehended by the police on Christmas morning.
