“Just Looking Like A Wow” trend origins explored
Jasmeen Kaur, who runs a women’s clothing store located on Fateh Nagar Jail Road, New Delhi, is credited with making the trend go viral. Jasmeen often shares various reels to promote the traditional collection of clothing pieces from her store. In her reels, she often uses the phrase, “so beautiful, so elegant, just looking like a wow.”
Netizens quickly warmed up to the phrase, and even celebrities are now joining in the tide. Various Bollywood celebrities have been posting reels on Instagram with Kaur’s voice in the background. Aside from the viral “Just Looking Like A Wow” trend, Jasmeen also introduced the word ‘ladoo peela’ colour, a vibrant middle-yellow hue, ‘blood red colour’, ‘mouse colour’, and more. Wamiqa Gabbi
Wamiqa Gabbi was one of the first few celebs who joined in on the trend when it initially started. Gabbi made a reel of herself in the mirror dressed in her satin saree, green studded choker set, and a bun. She was lip-syncing to Kaur’s audio.
Yashraj Mukhate
Yashraj is an Indian music composer, producer, and YouTuber, who took bits of Kaur’s reels and proceeded to compose an entire song ‘Just Looking Like A Wow.” The original reel has now garnered over two million views.
Sanya Malhotra
Sanya Malhotra shot a reel of herself in a black and white dual-toned pantsuit for an event, while using Mukhate’s song ‘Just Looking Like A Wow’ in the background. She even proceeded to dance to the song in the reel.
Deepika Padukone
Veteran Bollywood celebrity Deepika Padukone also could not hold back as he posted a reel of herself dressed in a glittery outfit, while lip-syncing on ‘so beautiful, so elegant, just looking like a wow, just looking like a wow.’
