Here is all you need to know about age 16 James Overy as Manchester United close to acquire the Australian football youngster

Manchester United is known for having a top-notch academy, and their young scouts are always on the lookout for players that have the ability to become the starts and make a place in the main squad.

Talented young athletes are given these scholarships, and accepting one is a big step towards possibly getting an offer for a professional contract that can be signed when the player is 17 years old and it seems there is another player in the line.

James Overy, a young player, and Manchester United are almost in agreement to sign as per Manchester Evening News

According to the aforementioned report, The Red Devils have sent a scholarship offer to Overy, and the team expresses their “hope” that the young player will choose to enrol at the academy.

Overy turned down offers from other Premier League teams like West Ham, Everton, and Leicester. If he accepts, he’ll likely move from Devon to Manchester.

Who is James Overy?

James Overy is an Australian football player who was born in 2007 and plays as a right-back.

The 16-year-old has played for Newton Abbot Spurs’ first team since coming to England, but the Premier League has taken notice of him since he made an impression at the age of 15 while playing for Perth Glory’s senior team in a pre-season friendly against West Ham last summer.

With the FIFA verdict, Perth Glory must be compensated for the move, and United has offered him a three-year contract.

When Overy was in Manchester, United provided him with the “VIP Treatment,” training him alongside their top prospects and housing him at the Class of 92-run Hotel Football, which had a view of Old Trafford.

Kobbie Mainoo, Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Willy Kambwala’s growth were the only bright spots in an otherwise worrisome season for the franchise, which saw the team finish last in the Premier League.

Thanks to their strong young squad, the Red Devils have a platform for the future to perform better.

If they can sign a few elite players during the INEOS era, they might become a strong side again as they used to be. It is to be seen when the deal between the A league player James Overy and Manchester United is finalised.
