Who’s James Baker?

For those who are unfamiliar with James Baker, let us tell you, he is a former federal prosecutor who had joined the hands of the former Office of Intelligence Policy and Review, which later, in 1996, merged with the DOJ’s National Security Division to become a part of it.

The former counsel had worked with several national security investigations and prosecutions including the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Baker is also known for serving the Counsel for Intelligence Policy at the Justice Department, from 2001 to 2007.

He was the head of the Office of Intelligence Policy and Review in the state’s Harvard Law School, where he started working as a lecturer in 2007.

The lawyer completed a Master’s degree in 2006 from the University of Michigan. He was honored with a George H.W. Bush Award for Excellence in counterterrorism.

Baker had also received the Intelligence Under Law Award from NSA along with the NSA Director’s Distinguished Service Medal.

According to reports, he had joined hands with social media platform Twitter back in 2020. The former chief of Legal Officer, Sean Edgett, welcomed him as he penned down a tweet.
