Not just this, the journalist also revealed how “the decision was made at the highest levels of the company.” Meanwhile, the name of the former Twitter’s Deputy general counsel, James Baker, is now trending on social media.
Tesla’s boss Elon Musk has now revealed that the crucial key player behind the censorship of the New York Post on Twitter was Baker, who’s reportedly also a key player in the Russia collusion hoax.
In his 27th narrated tweet regarding the incident, author Matt, penned down, “Former VP of Global Comms Brandon Borrman asks, ‘Can we truthfully claim that this is part of the policy?'”
To which Baker wrote in an undated email while urging on the censorship action due to “caution is warranted.”
Who’s James Baker?
For those who are unfamiliar with James Baker, let us tell you, he is a former federal prosecutor who had joined the hands of the former Office of Intelligence Policy and Review, which later, in 1996, merged with the DOJ’s National Security Division to become a part of it.
The former counsel had worked with several national security investigations and prosecutions including the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
Baker is also known for serving the Counsel for Intelligence Policy at the Justice Department, from 2001 to 2007.
He was the head of the Office of Intelligence Policy and Review in the state’s Harvard Law School, where he started working as a lecturer in 2007.
The lawyer completed a Master’s degree in 2006 from the University of Michigan. He was honored with a George H.W. Bush Award for Excellence in counterterrorism.
Baker had also received the Intelligence Under Law Award from NSA along with the NSA Director’s Distinguished Service Medal.
According to reports, he had joined hands with social media platform Twitter back in 2020. The former chief of Legal Officer, Sean Edgett, welcomed him as he penned down a tweet.
Sean wrote, “Thrilled to welcome @thejimbaker to @Twitter as Deputy General Counsel. Jim is committed to our core principles of an open internet and freedom of expression, and brings experience navigating complex, global issues with a principled approach.”
