Premier League giants Chelsea have managed to secure the signing of 17-year-old Jamaican wonderkid Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards, while beating Newcastle United in the process.
Richards who is also known as ‘Whisper’, joins Chelsea from Phoenix All Stars, an academy side based in Kingston, Jamaica.

The youngster is the latest player on a long list of recent wonder kids to arrive at the Stamford Bridge.
Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards signs for Chelsea
Phoenix themselves shared the news about Whisper agreeing to terms and signing for the Blues by posting pictures. Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported stated that Blues chief Joe Shields played a key part in securing the deal.
Prior to the signing, the Toon were also reportedly interested in him and even took him on a trial basis. According to reports, Whisper attended their 1-1 draw with West Ham back last month on February 4. However, it looks like Chelsea have beaten Newcastle in securing the youngster’s signature.

Dujuan ‘Whisper’ Richards is a Jamaican professional footballer who was born on 11 October 2005 at Port Royal, Jamaica. He is currently 17 years old and stands at a height of 1.94 m or 6 ft 4 in. The young starlet primarily plays as a Forward and scored 31 goals along with 19 assists last season for the All Stars.
His hot from attracted a lot of interest from Premier League teams, like Newcastle who were also keen. Despite his young age, Whisper got called up to join the senior Jamaica squad for matches this month.

Richards is currently the latest wonderkid to join the Blues ever since Todd Boehly arrived at Stamford Bridge. So far, Chelsea have spent around £540million on transfers alone this season. Out of this, Chelsea spent over £300m in January alone.
Besides securing stars for the first team, the West Londoners have recruited fresh talent for the future. These players include future stars like like David Datro Fofana, Andrey Santos, and Gabriel Slonina.
Besides them, Chelsea also signed players who will play immediately for the academy team, including the likes of Jimmy-Jay Morgan, Zak Sturge, and Omari Hutchinson.
