McLaughlin has been nothing short of impressive this season after coming on to replace the injured Javonte Williams in Week 4.
Head coach Sean Payton shared the following about Jaleel:
“Let’s talk about Jaleel. He played really well. He’s one of the guys that got a game ball this morning. He was explosive in the run and the pass. He gave us some juice, so we’ll continue to look at his role.”
After impressing in Week 4, McLaughin had an impressive Week 5, rushing 68 yards and catching three passes for 21 yards, and scoring his third career touchdown.

Jaleel McLaughlin is an American football running back who was born on 13 September 2000 in Marshville, North Carolina, USA. He is currently just 23 years old and plays for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). Prior to joining the NFL, he played college football at Notre Dame College as well as at Youngstown State. He is currently the NCAA’s all-time leading rusher.

Jaleel McLaughlin college career
McLaughlin began his college career at Division II Notre Dame College, located in South Euclid, Ohio. The young talent made no waste of time rushing for a then-school-record 302 yards in his debut freshman year. He later went on to break that record with a 340-yard performance.
He eventually finished his freshman year with a total of 2,421 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. The following year in his sophomore season, McLaughlin rushed for 2,316 yards and 33 touchdowns. He registered a total of 4,737 rushing yards and 52 touchdowns across his first two seasons in college.
After his sophomore season, McLaughlin decided to transfer to Youngstown State. The college was a part the Division I FCS Missouri Valley Football Conference. However, McLaughlin had to wait for some time to make a debut due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He finally had his first season at Youngstown State during the spring of 2021. McLaughlin rushed for a total of 691 yards and five touchdowns over seven games that season.
Later during the fall of 2021, McLaughlin he ran a total of 1,139 yards and scored 12 touchdowns. He also played the 2022 season as an additional season due to the pandemic, during which he added 1,588 rushing yards and scored 13 touchdowns. McLaughlin eventually finished his time at Youngstown State with 8,166 yards as college football’s all-time leading rusher. He also scored a total of 79 rushing touchdowns throughout his career. Notably, McLaughlin still holds the NCAA record for the most number of rushes.

Jaleel McLaughlin NFL draft
During his pro day, McLaughlin measured just a little under 5-8 and weighed around 187 pounds. He also clocked in a 4.44-second 40-yard dash. He initially signed as an undrafted free agent with the Broncos after going undrafted during the 2023 NFL Draft. However, he had an impressing training camp following which he earned a spot on Denver’s 53-man roster. He eventually made his NFL debut in Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Jaleel McLaughlin scored his first-ever career NFL touchdown, registering a five-yard rush in Week 2. He has since added two receiving touchdowns, once in Week 4 against the Bears and the other against the Jets in Week 5. During those two weeks, McLaughlin registered 16 carries for 140 yards, alongside two rushes for over 30 yards. Moreover, he also managed to grab six receptions for 53 yards.
He signed a three-year, $2.71 million contract with the Broncos in May of 2023.
