66-year-old Jagdish Devda was born on July 1, 1957 in Neemuch district. Devda’s early foray into politics began during his student years when he served as the president of the student union at the Shaskiya Mahavidyalaya in 1979. Names of Devda’s family members are not known.

In 1990, he was elected as an MLA for the first time, repeating this success in 1993. His electoral triumphs continued, and in 2003, he became a minister in the state government. The year 2008 saw him taking charge of crucial departments, including transport, jail, and planning, as a cabinet minister in the Shivraj government.
What sets Devda apart is his ability to secure victories consistently. In the 2023 Vidhan Sabha elections, Jagdish Devda secured the Malhargarh seat by defeating his nearest rival Shyamlal Jokchand by a substantial margin. This marks his seventh consecutive term as an MLA, showcasing the trust and confidence reposed in him by the people of Madhya Pradesh.
