Know the rank and batch of IPS officer Vikram Singh Mann
On Thursday, October 12, Vikram Singh Mann, the Additional Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), assumed the role of Hyderabad City Police Commissioner following a directive from the Election Commission (EC) to transfer CV Anand.
He conducted a video conference with the city’s police force to address election-related offenses and reinforce security measures.

Alongside Anand, the EC also ordered the reassignment of AV Ranganath and V Satyanarayana as commissioners of Warangal and Nizamabad, respectively. The EC mandated the transfer of 13 police superintendents and commissioners within the state of Telangana. Notably, among these 13 officers, nine belong to the non-cadre category.
These transfers encompassed various officials, including M Ramana, the SP of Sangareddy; B Srinivas Reddy, the SP of Kamareddy; A Bhaskar, the SP of Jagityal; K Narasimha, the SP of Mahabubnagar; K Manohar, the SP of Nagarkurnool; K Srujana, the SP of Jogulamba Gadwal; G Chandramohan, the SP of Mahbubabad; N Venkateshwarulu, the SP of Narayanpet; P Karunakar, the SP of Bhupalapally; and Rajender Prasad, the SP of Suryapet.
For those unfamiliar with the structure of the city’s police force, Hyderabad is divided into seven zones: Central, East, North, South, South East, South West, and West Zones.
Each zone is overseen by a Deputy Commissioner of Police, and each zone further comprises divisions, each led by an Assistant Commissioner of Police. These divisions include several Law & Order Police Stations, each of which is headed by an Inspector of Police as the Station House Officer. In total, there are 28 divisions and 71 Law & Order Police Stations.
Additionally, Law & Order Police Stations have crime detachment units, and all Police Stations have a Detective Inspector or Additional Inspector responsible for property-related offenses in their respective jurisdictions. Furthermore, the city boasts seven Women Police Stations in addition to the 71 Law & Order Police Stations.
The Hyderabad City Police shoulders year-round Law and Order responsibilities, often related to festivals, significant events, VIP visits, protests, and demonstrations.
In this context, the Hyderabad Police is dedicated to ensuring the safety, security, and peace of its residents and establishments while addressing the prevailing security challenges, promoting communal harmony, maintaining Law and Order, and preventing and detecting various types of crimes, including white-collar crimes and cybercrimes.
