For the unversed, earlier, the Metropolitan police has apprehended a man in Leicester Square after the incident of stabbing an 11-year-old girl and her 34-year-old mother was reported.
The incident that took place on Monday morning saw an 11-year-old being stabbed outside the TWG shop that is located in front of the M&M store at the Leicester Square, London.

As per the witnesses, an unidentified man in his mid-30s, who were reportedly wearing a black T-shirt and jeans was arrested on Monday following the incident as onlookers grabbed him and held him down until the authorities arrived at the scene.

Now, reports emerged indicating that the suspect in the Leicester Square stabbing has been identified as a 32-year-old Ioan Pintaru who is allegedly a Romanian immigrant with no fixed abode. As per the media reports, Ioan Pintaru, whose address as of now isn’t revealed, is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today.
His religion isn’t known as of yet.

Reportedly, Ioan Pintaru is facing charges of attempted murder and possession of a blade.
What Exactly Happened?
For the context, a young girl has been rushed to the hospital after Ioan Pintaru reportedly repeatedly stabbed her. Although, her injuries were determined serious, reports indicated they are not life-threatening.
Initially, it was reported that the child’s mother, who is approximately 34 years old, and was with her young daughter at the time of incident, has been injured in the incident.
However, later, the Metropolitan police confirmed that the blood on her body was from her daughter’s wound and that the mother of the child is fine.
The stabbing incident reportedly occurred near the TWG tea shop in Leicester Square. The authorities believe that it was a random attack and not linked to terrorism.
A security guard at the shop, identified as Abdullah, hailed as a hero by his colleagues as well as social media users as he intervened to protect the girl during the attack.
In an interview earlier, Abdullah, recounted that how he rushed to save the girl after hearing her screams during his shift.

Meanwhile, Detective Chief Superintendent Christina Jessah described the incident as horrific, expressing sympathy for the victims and their family.
She commended the bravery of those who intervened, saying, “They put themselves at risk and showed the best of London in doing so.”
