The Instagram personality, Shreya responded to the controversy by expressing that she was trending because people wanted views. In addition, she challenged her critics, and invited them to meet her in person. She went as far as to reveal her home address.
Although, Shreya admitted that her clothing choice was unconventional, she also defended it by saying that many women dress similarly and that she had done nothing out of the ordinary.

However, despite her explanation, netizens outrage continue towards Shreyaโs action and as they demanded an apology from her. After going through an intense online backlash, Shreya eventually issued an apology.
Reportedly, Shreya expressed regret for her actions and specifically apologized to the Bajrang Dal, who has been condemning the viral video.
In the midst of the ongoing backlash, Shreya can be seen heard in her apology video that she felt overwhelmed by the hate and criticism, stating, โPlease leave me alone. I feel like I have no right to live and want to die by su*cide.โ
