A female police inspector named Amy Scott apprehended Bondi attacker Joel Cauchi
She has an experience of more than ten years and is a high ranking inspector.
Joel Cauchi who was the guy responsible for the stabbing incident at Sydney’s major retail malls ‘Bondi Junction’s Westfield retail Centre’ was caught by a female officer. Police inspector Amy Scott was alone and she had no support when she confronted Cauchi.

Six people were stabbed fatally by an attacker on Saturday in Sydney at a crowded shopping complex. Joel Cauchi aged 40 was the perpetrator of the attack at the Westfield Shopping Centre in Bondi Junction.
During a press conference, NSW Assistant Police Commissioner Anthony Cooke informed reporters that Cauchi had unidentified mental health problems and that police detectives were not considering the attack to be related to terrorism.
Inspector Amy Scott was present at Bondi Junction when the incident took place. She was performing her routine duties. According to media reports, Inspector Amy encountered Joel Cauchi on the fifth floor of the shopping complex and shot him.

Scott managed to remain calm in the midst of this panicked mob. She was directed to the fifth level of the shopping centre by the people shopping in the centre. Without wasting any time, she rushed and apprehended the 40-year-old attacker Cauchi.
An eyewitness revealed to the media that when Officer Amy screamed “put it down” but Cauchi raised his knife and charged at the officer. After Joel’s attack, Scott shot him.
When Joel collapsed, the officer approached him and threw his weapon away. Joel was carrying a large knife, away. Later, Amy performed CPR on Joel.
Inspector Amy Scott is a veteran Australian police officer and she works for the New South Wales Police Department. She is being praised by locals and politicians for her brave actions during the Bondi attack.
This is not the first time when Amy has showcased her fearlessness. She is having a decorated career with the Australian Police Department.

Karen Webb who is head of the state’s police force hailed Scott for her enormous courage. Karen said, “If she didn’t do it, he would’ve kept going … she has done an awesome job and I’m proud of her.”
