Antoine Massey on the run

Authorities are currently out looking to capture Antoine Massey, who is a repeat escapee with a long history of run-ins with the law enforcement and is believed to be the mastermind of the Orleans Parish jail break which saw 10 prisoners escape with eight of them now captured. According to a surveillance footage from May 16, Massey, along with nine others, broke out of the Orleans Justice Center at around 1 a.m. The incident sparked a citywide alert and authorities managed to spot three of the escapees alongside Baronne Street by 2 a.m. While authorities managed to apprehend the others, Massey and Derrick Groves are still out on the run.

According to ASAP (Association of Supervised Ankle monitoring Providers) president Matt Dennis, Massey could be well-equipped to stay hidden. He added:

If my theory is right, Massey has enough cash to live under the radar—money for hotels, food, and whatever else he needs to avoid detection.”

Antoine Massey biography and age

Antoine Massey is an escaped convict who is currently on the run from the authorities. Over the years, he has been involved with the criminal justice system, dating back since 2007. He is currently aged 32 and has a criminal record that includes multiple escapes and violations of parole terms.

Massey has been linked to orchestrating the Orleans Parish jailbreak after a jail maintenance worker., Sterling Williams told investigators that Massey threatened to “shank him” unless he helped open the escape route.

Daishanae Massey, 31, the sister of fugitive Antoine Massey, is one of 13 people accused on suspicion of aiding and abetting the escapees and a warrant has also been secured against Massey’s love interest, whom investigators say helped plan the breakout and misled police after it happened.

Massey’s latest arrest came after what police described as a harrowing fight in November 2024 with a girlfriend that left her with a bruised and bloodied face, raspy voice, eyes swollen shut and trouble swallowing and the same woman has since been arrested and accused of helping Massey after the jailbreak.

Massey had ripped the braids from her head, leaving blood all over the walls.

Two weeks after he and nine other inmates at the New Orleans jail squeezed through a hole in the wall and fled on May 16, only 32-year-old Massey and 27-year-old Derrick Groves are still on the run.

Antoine Massey’s criminal record includes a nearly 20-year history of escapes from juvenile detention, adult jail and electronic monitoring systems.

Massey awaits trial in New Orleans for domestic abuse and theft of motor vehicle, and he’s wanted for a r*pe and kidnapping in St. Tammany Parish.

Charges and allegations

According to reports, Antoine Massey has an extensive criminal history. His first known charges are escaping from a juvenile detention center in 2007. Later in 2019, Massey broke out of the Morehouse Parish Detention Center, following which he cut off two court-mandated ankle monitors in 2023. Massey’s latest escape involved ten inmates, and it was part of a coordinated break from Orleans Parish jail. While authorities managed to recapture the others quickly, Massey and fellow inmate Groves are still at large.
