Vaishnavi’s mother Ashalata Sharma is a housewife while her father Dr. Nayan Sharma is an astrologer at Gwalior’s Jiwaji University and has been teaching astrology for the past 17 years. Dr. Nayan Sharma said in a conversation, “When I saw my daughter’s horoscope in her childhood, I pushed her towards cricket at the age of four. She has been playing for Gwalior Tansen Cricket Academy since then.”
She plays cricket for the India U19 and Madhya Pradesh women teams and has been the captain of Madhya Pradesh’s Under-Nineteen women’s cricket team. She has also played in the Under-19 India-A team and in the India-B team.
Her local coach is Lavlesh Chaudhary who had said said, “Vaishnavi is a promising student as well as an excellent player. Seeing her game, I talked to her father and encouraged her towards cricket, the result of which is in front of you all today. She is an excellent left arm spinner in cricket and an all-rounder player. She has been the highest wicket taker in Under-19 domestic cricket. We are proud of her.”
