About Anant Jeet Singh Naruka
For the curious, born on July 1, 1998, Anant Jeet Singh Naruka , hails from the royal family Uniara in the Tonk district of Rajasthan.
Born in Jaipur, Rajsthan, to parents Dalpat Singh Naruka, who has been his personal coach since a young age.
In an earlier interview, Anant’s father revealed that when his son was still young, he often accompanied Dalpat Singh to the Jagatpura shooting range as his father is also a former skeet shooter.
Accompanying his father, Anant Jeet Singh learner various shooting techniques. Reports reveals that, for training, the father-son duo made a daily 130 km journey to the Oases shooting range in Jaipur.
Career
As per reports, Anant Jeet Singh Naruka, started his shooting career in 2012 after entering to the local competitions. In 2014, he competed in the Asian Shotgun Championship in Al-Ain, United Arab Emirates.
In 2015, he participated in the National Shooting Competition 59th edition, and emerged winner after defeating national champions Man Singh and Mairaj Ahmed Khan.
His other notable achievements includes competing in the ISSF junior World Cup is Sydney, participating in the 2nd ISSF junior cup tournament in Germany. Scoring 110 and 12 in the junior men’s skeet category at the 7th international junior shotgun cup in Finland.
Additionally, in 2022, Anant Jeet Singh Naruka participated in the 64th national shooting championship competition in Patiala, Punjab and secured the highest score. A year later, he competed in the 66th national shooting championship competition in New Delhi, scoring 123 out of 125.
At the Asian Games 2022 in Hangzhou, China, Anantjeet scored 58 out of 60. In the team event, he teamed up with Angad Vir Singh Bajwa and Gurjoat Khangura, collectively scoring 355 points, earning them the bronze medal.
Performance at the Olympics
During the Paris Olympics 2024, Anant Jeet Singh Naruka pair up with Maheshwari Chauhan, tied for the second place with a score of 49 after the first stage qualification sharing the spot with teams from Australia, Korea, France, and two Italian teams.
Anant scored 25/25 in the first round, while Chauhan shot 24/25, bringing India’s total to 49. In the second round, Maheshwari shot a perfect 25, but Naruka missed two shots, tallying 23 and giving them an aggregate score of 48. In the third round, India scored 49, with Maheshwari shooting 25 and Naruka 24.
