About Premgi Amaren
With the movie Wanted, which starred S. P. B. Charan and his older brother, Premgi intended to make his directorial debut in 1997. The film’s filming was abandoned. His father and S. P. Balasubrahmanyam played comedians, while his younger cousin brother composed the soundtrack.
Premgi began his career as a playback vocalist, primarily singing the rap sections of his cousin Yuvan Shankar Raja’s compositions, after deciding to pursue his interest in music writing full-time. He then collaborated with other music composers. He also remixed several of his songs for the soundtrack CDs while collaborating with Yuvan Shankar Raja. The first tune to be remixed was “Loosu Penne” from the movie Vallavan.
