He worked as consul general in Johannesburg where he contributed to strengthening India’s ties with Africa.

Within the Ministry of External Affairs, he led the Division for the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation and the North American division, showcasing his diverse expertise.

Doraiswami’s tenure as High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh was particularly significant.
