Since Phil Mickelson’s victory at the Tucson Open in 1991, Dunlap, the current US Amateur champion, is the first amateur winner. He finished at 29-under 259, breaking the tournament scoring record for a 72-hole event, with a final round score of two-under 70.

Who is Hunter Hamrick?

Nick Dunlap’s caddie, Hunter Hamrick was born in Montgomery, Alabama to Gail Green Hamrick (mother) and William Hamrick (father) as their only child.

Hamrick rose to prominence as his team’s ace at the University of Alabama. His academic year began in 2009, and he graduated in 2012. Following the completion of his business management degree in 2012, Hamrick dedicated himself entirely to the game of golf.

He said in 2011 that his affection for the University of Alabama stemmed from his parents, just before he enrolled. He started playing golf at an early age. Hamrick grew to adore every sport the university played and made the decision to pursue further study there.

He was awarded a golf scholarship by the University of Alabama in 2008, and he went on to become the captain of the team there. His accomplishments include the 2009 NCAA Northeast Regional Championship championship and four victories in 35 tournaments and 102 rounds.

Becoming pro in 2012, he participated in 79 tournaments on the PGA Tour development circuits between 2012 and 2019, including seven elite events. However, he did not win any PGA Tour event.

Hunter is married to Mackenzie James and the two often pictures of themselves attending games and wandering around the world.
