Holle and Hunter Avallone have started a GoFundMe fundraiser to get help for Holle’s medical expenses and the goal of the fundraiser is to collect $20,000, and the couple has managed to raise more than $4500 as 80 people donated to the cause.
Sharing pictures of the wound, the fundraiser also mentioned that even though Conrad had died, Holle still needed to pay for the debts they both took when they were together.

According to reports, Hunter Avallone and his girlfriend, Holle Peno, were shot at by her ex, Conrad. According to Peno, Conrad was abusive throughout their 11-year relationship and recently went on to share photos of how he used Apple Air Tags to track her location in the apartment.
In the video that Avallone shared, viewers could see the couple taking shelter on the balcony. While doing this, the couple was making attempts to stop the bleeding from the gunshot wound on Peno’s leg, all the while her ex pounded on the front door. The video then showed Avallone calling the police for help, and saying that Conrad was carrying a concealed gun under his coat.
The video further shows various officers confronting their attacker, and calling out:
Show me your f***ing hands!”.
Following which, viewers get to hear six gunshots and Peno sobbing in anguish.

After the shocking incident, Hunter Avallone shared the details of on his X account, saying:
I’m still trying to process this and I’m most likely in shock as I write this. But only a few hours ago, Holle’s ex-boyfriend Conrad showed up at my apartment building with a shotgun.”
He shot through my building door, injuring Holle’s leg in the process. I recorded the final moments in which we’re hiding on the back porch. You can hear him shoot at police before ultimately taking his own life…in my own f***ing apartment hallway. Still trying to process this. Holle and I are physically ok but mentally, this is gonna do some serious damage. Holle has been amazing and she’s been incredibly brave and strong throughout this ordeal.”
Meanwhile, Peno shared:
I keep thinking what I could have done differently.. But looking at the situation as if it were a friend and not myself… I took a bullet for someone I love, and I protected them with my life,” she wrote.
Official police reports
According to Erin Gibbons, Martinsburg Police Chief, police officer swiftly responded to the incident and bravely handled the situation. He revealed that a brief gunfire exchange took place between the officers, before the man eventually took his own life. Gibbons shared how the decisive actions of the police officers prevented further harm and even saved lives.
Holle Peno shares about her abusive relationship with her ex
Hunter Avallone’s girlfriend Peno, who works as a social media creator, previously revealed how she “hid a lot of abuse” during her past relationship with Conrad. Peno had reportedly just left him last month and shared a photo with her new lover, Avallone, just on the day of the shooting. She shared the photo with the caption, “feeling cozy and safe.”
Following the tragic incident, she shared more about her past relationship with Conrad, saying:
I loved him for 11 years despite the abuse, and he couldn’t love me enough to let me leave. I am sad, and angry, and sorry, and heartbroken… I am struggling rn.
It hurts. I can’t believe he did that.”

Hunter Avallone also shared screenshots of the final text messages that Conrad sent to Peno, before killing himself. In the texts, Peno begged her ex to surrender while saying how she had lost a lot of blood.
Meanwhile, Conrad replied:

In response, Peno texted:
Leave him, please.”
Hunter and Peno have set up a “GoFundMe” for Peno’s medical treatments.
