According to media reports, 6 year old Hind Rajab reached out to rescuers after her family’s car was targeted in Gaza City, pleading, “I’m so scared, please come.” Hind Rajab, along with five relatives, was found in Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighborhood.
They were in a vehicle hit by Israeli shelling. Sources have stated that Hind Rajab, a six-year-old resident of Gaza City’s Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, was killed by the Israeli Defense Forces during the Israel-Hamas conflict.
PRCS Took Several Hours to Reach
During the Israel-Hamas conflict, Israel ordered widespread evacuations of the Gaza Strip. On January 29, 2024, Rajab’s family was fleeing Gaza City when an Israeli army tank hit their vehicle.
One of her relatives asked the Palestinian Red Crescent Society to assist them. However, it took the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) several hours to reach them. Meanwhile, Hind Rajab was on the phone with the group for three hours, asking for assistance.

Hind Rajab Pleaded For Help
“I’m filled with fear, please come and rescue me. Will you come to my aid?,” asked 6-year-old Hind Rajab.
As the area became surrounded, the Palestinian Red Crescent worked alongside the Gaza Health Ministry and the IDF to guarantee safe passage for their team to rescue Hind. Additionally, an ambulance was promptly sent out.
Shortly after the phone call, communication with them was abruptly lost by the Red Crescent. For a harrowing 12 days, the fate of Hind Rajab and the paramedics remained shrouded in uncertainty.
According to a report, on February 10, 2024, Hind’s family ventured into the neighborhood after the IDF’s withdrawal. First responders from the PRCS managed to approach the area previously designated as an active battle zone.
There, they stumbled upon Hind Rajab’s black Kia car, its glass shattered, dashboard broken, and bullet holes riddling its sides. Inside lay Hind and her relatives, lifeless. Adding to the tragedy, nearby stood the Red Crescent ambulance, seemingly destroyed by an Israeli rocket, just a few feet away.

Subsequent to this, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and the surviving members of Rajab’s family verified on Saturday that all individuals in the vehicle were killed during the Israeli assault on civilians in Gaza City.
What Did Rajab’s Grandfather Reveals?
According to media, Baha Hamada, Hind’s grandfather, commented on the tragic event, stating, “Hind and all others in the vehicle have been martyred. [Family members] managed to access the area because Israeli forces withdrew earlier at dawn today.”
