Swapna Barman bio and family
Swapna Barman is an Indian Heptathlete who was born on 29 October 1996 in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. She was born to parents Panchanan Barman and Basana Barman and has three other siblings. Her father works as a rickshaw driver while her mother previously worked on a tea estate. After her father suffered a stroke in 2013, Swapna is the bread earner of the household who uses all her prize money and scholarships to provide for her family.
Education
Although the exact details of her primary and high school education are not available, she graduated from the Charuchandra College, in Kolkata.

Swapna is currently 26 years old and stands at a height of 5’3” feet or 1.6 m and is a female by gender.
Career
Swapna gained prominence in 2014, after she got the 5th position at the Asian Games in the Heptathlon event. The event took place at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium. She eventually won Gold at the Asian Athletics Championships at Kalinga Stadium Bhubneswar in Heptathlon in the 2017 edition.
The following year at the 2018 Asian Games in Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, she won another gold medal in Heptathlon. In 2019, Swapna won a silver at the Asian Athletics Championships which took place in the Khalifa International Stadium, Doha. She has a sponsorship with the Go Sports foundation and receives a regular stipend from the ONGC. Swapna currently trains herself at the grounds of the Sports Authority of India in Kolkata.
Awards and achievements
Throughout her career Swapna has won the Gold medal in Heptathlon at the Asian Games (2017 and 2018) and a silver at the Asian Athletics Championships. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Arjuna Award (2019).
