It was also revealed that before her stream, she had taken part in a pro-Palestine march near the stone circle. She said the decision to go live came on impulse — armed with a couple of drinks, she hit the record button and quickly saw her audience grow from a thousand to tens of thousands, and eventually much more. With increasing demand in the comments urging her to continue, she made her way closer to the stage pit to give viewers a better view.

The band Kneecap appeared to appreciate the effort, later commenting on her TikTok with: “Helen you’re a legend. Tickets to any show – just give us a shout!” Helen defended her decision by emphasizing Glastonbury’s ethos of free speech, stating that there was no valid reason why the BBC should have refrained from airing the performance. Many online users praised her initiative, calling her a “true hero” for enabling such a widely viewed moment.

At her café, Helen has also introduced “offline nights” once a month, banning phones and laptops to foster deeper, real-life conversations. She noted how strangers ended up sharing tables and skills like knitting and crocheting, adding that her own desire to disconnect from the pressure of being constantly online had inspired the initiative.
