Sharmin Segal is a popular Indian actress who was born on September 28, 1995, in Mumbai. She was born to parents, Bela Segal, and Deepak Segal, and is the niece of famous director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and is a Hindu by religion. Sharmin works in Hindi films and started out her career as an assistant director to her uncle Sanjay. She made her acting debut in his production, Malaal, and even won a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

While growing up, Sharmin Segal struggled with bullying and once shared publicly about her experiences. The 28-year-old explained how she was body-shamed and described:
I was really fat for 13-14 years of my life. There were kids in school who used to make fun of me from the ages of 11-18 until I graduated from school.”
Sharmin explained how she was once forced to play a “caricature fat friend-type (man)” in a school performance.

Sharmin made her Hindi film debut in the 2019 film Malaal, where she managed to earn awards for her performance.
