Who Is Hasnat Khan In The Crown Season 5, His Age, Wife, Relationship To Diana And Net Worth
Who Is Hasnat Khan? The Crown Puts The Soulmate Of Princess Diana Front And Centre
Hasnat Khan makes his debut in Season 5 Episode 7 of “The Crown.” He was a British-Pakistani cardiac surgeon that Diana fell in love with during the dissolution of her marriage to Prince Charles. Between 1995 and 1997- the same year the monarch tragically passed away—the low-key couple supposedly had a committed relationship for as long as two years.
At the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, Humayun Saeed’s portrayal of Hasnat meets Elizabeth Debicki’s convincing Princess Diana in the television series The Crown. The monarch had come to see a friend who was having heart surgery. The fictional Diana calls Hasnat “dishy.” As per the records, such as the one provided by Sarah Bradford in her book Diana, when Diana first laid eyes on Hasnat, she exclaimed, “Isn’t he drop-dead gorgeous?”
Diana Meeting Hasnat Khan
After they initially met, the Princess of Wales reportedly visited him in the hospital every single day. Definitely, someone had a crush on someone! They immediately started dating. The doctor would explain how the couple’s relationship slowly developed from friendship to romance in an interview with the police after Diana’s shocking death. Hasnat discussed marriage and exposed Princess Diana to many everyday items.
Imagine how different it was for Diana to date Hasnat after her marriage to Prince Charles. The low-key couple reportedly enjoyed doing a lot of typical things that the now King wouldn’t do, such as eating KFC and going out to clubs while she wore a disguise.
Despite the fact that their relationship was kept a secret, it is known from numerous sources that Diana called Hasnat “Mr Wonderful.” She believed he was “the one,” according to royal authority Tina Brown. The couple even discussed getting married and starting a family. The princess once went to meet his family in Pakistan, demonstrating how devoted she was to him.
The Romantic Tale Coming To An Abrupt End
Though the exact reason Diana and Hasnat called it quits is unknown, it appears that The Sunday Mirror’s discovery of the couple’s relationship was the tipping point. The entire world soon learned about it. Hasnat reportedly found it difficult to handle the attention Diana had grown accustomed to and from which she had ostensibly tried to shield him.
The physician admitted to authorities that his primary worry about getting married to her was that it would make his life miserable due to who she was. “If we ever had children together, I would not be able to take them anywhere or do normal things with them because I would not be able to live a normal life.”
Hasnat Never Saw Diana Again As Fate Had Other Plans.
Diana would travel to Paris on that fateful journey to meet with Dodi Fayed after her romance with Hasnat came to an end, as we see in part in The Crown. On August 31, 1997, she passed away. Hasnat, with whom she was supposedly still in love, may have even called her the night before her tragic vehicle accident.
Hasnat reportedly went to Diana’s funeral shortly after. In 2008, the doctor told The Daily Telegraph that the late Princess of Wales was “a very normal lady with tremendous traits,” though he hadn’t before discussed their relationship in public.
Hasnat, who is currently living in England and married to his second wife, continued by lamenting the fact that he particularly didn’t want to bring up Diana because she was no longer around and able to answer.
The 64 year old in 2006 married Hadia Sher Ali, the 20-something daughter of a noble Afghan family, in a lavish Muslim ceremony in Pakistan. They divorced two years later, and Hasnat married Somi Sohail with his net worth at $5 million.
