Recently, reports emerged online suggesting that British technology entrepreneur Mike Lynch, who was earlier acquitted of fraud charges in June in a landmark trial over the allegations by Hewlett Packard, reportedly went missing on Monday following the sinking of a superyacht off the coast of Sicily.

For the unversed, Lynch was alleged to have artificially inflating the value of his company before selling it to the U.S. tech giant for $11.7 billion in 2011 and two months after his acquittal, he went missing as aforesaid after the sinking of a superyacht.
The yacht, named Bayesian, capsized around 4 a.m. local time while anchored off the coast of Porticello, a small fishing village in Palermo, Italy. The vessel was struck by an unexpectedly violent storm.
Reportedly, Lynchโs wife, Angela Bacares, is among the 15 people rescued from the yacht. Officials reported at least one fatality, with six others, including Lynchโs daughter Hannah, still missing.

What Did the Sicily Civil Protection Agency Say?
Sicilyโs civil protection agency informed reporters late Monday that Morgan Stanley International Chairman Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy, and Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife Neda were also missing as search and rescue efforts continued on Tuesday.
18 year old Hannah Lynch was also on the superyacht with her father Mike Lynch when it was struck by a violent storm in the early hours of Monday.
Hannah is a former pupil of ยฃ25,000-a-year Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith – a private school and is understood to be the youngest of Mr Lynchโs two daughters.

She had been due to study English at University of Oxford having recently finished her A-levels and a gifted pupil, she won a prize for English while she was in Year 10 at Latymer Upper School. While her net worth isn’t known, her father is currently worth 500 million pounds.
Born on June 16, 1965, in IIford, London Borough of Redbridge, Mike Lynch grew up in Chelmsford, Essex. Reports claim that his mother was a County Tipperaryโs nurse and his father was a firefighter.
The 59-year-old entrepreneur, is the founder of enterprise software firm Autonomy and currently runs Invoke Capital, a venture capital firm backing European tech startups, which he established in 2012.

He became embroiled in a prolonged legal battle with Hewlett Packard, which accused him of inflating Autonomyโs value in the $11.7 billion sale. HP wrote down $8.8 billion of Autonomyโs value within a year of the acquisition.
Lynch was extradited from the U.K. to the U.S. last year to stand trial on charges of wire fraud and conspiracy, accused of inflating Autonomyโs revenue starting in 2009 to attract a buyer.
However, two months ago, Lynch, who has consistently denied the charges, was acquitted of fraud in a surprising victory following a three-month trial.

Lynch appeared on Forbesโ billionaires list in 2014 and 2015 with an estimated net worth of $1 billion but fell off in 2016 due to mounting legal costs in his dispute with HP.
