Three accusers have been detained
Eight years after her mobster boyfriend, Sandeep Gadoli, was purportedly shot and killed, Divya Pahuja was murdered. On Tuesday, January 2, Divya Pahuja, an accused person in the Gadoli murder case, was killed in a Gurugram hotel. According to authorities, the 27-year-old former model was shot and killed at Hotel City Point, close to a bus stop.
Three people have been detained by Gurugram Police thus far in relation to the homicide. The names of the three defendants are Omprakash (23), Hemraj (28), and Abhijeet Singh (56).
Who is Divya Pahuja?
Growing up in Gurugram’s Baldev Nagar, Divya Pahuja came from a modest middle-class family. Divya finished her 12th-grade education at Gurugram’s Sector 17 St. PBN Public School, as per a 2016 Hindustan Times article.
It is said that before she met the infamous gangster Sandeep Gadoli, she was a city club compere and an aspiring model. Pahuja was rumoured to be Gadoli’s girlfriend at 19. Gadoli was killed in February 2016 in what the Gurugram Police’s Crime Branch claimed to be a fake encounter.
The Mumbai Police stated that the accused police officers had utilised Pahuja’s assistance to entice Gadoli to a hotel in Mumbai, where the purportedly fictitious encounter occurred, as PTI reported. According to the allegation, the police officials had also planned Gadoli’s murder in collusion with a rival gang led by Virendra Kumar, also known as Binder Gujjar.
In July 2016, Pahuja was taken into custody in Delhi on charges of assisting and instigating Gadoli’s murder, as stated in a Times of India article. The article also stated that five additional police officers and Pahuja’s mother were taken into custody concerning Gadoli’s purported murder. Pahuja was imprisoned for the following seven years until June 2023, when the Bombay High Court granted her release.
