On Wednesday, November 27, Urvil Patel, the wicketkeeper batsman for Gujarat who went unpicked by a team in the IPL 2025 mega auction, created history by smashing the fastest century in 28 balls in the SMAT
Urvil Patel accomplished the feat during the current Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) match between Gujrat and Tripura. Only Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan, who got a century off just 27 balls against Cyprus, is faster than Urvil’s century in men’s T20 cricket.
Gujarat chased a goal of 156 runs, and Urvil’s innings included seven fours and twelve sixes. His team pursued the mark in just 10.2 overs, and he ended the match with a stunning knock of 113 runs off 35 balls.
