A comprehensive search effort was underway for Govindarajan Krishnan, a resident of Adyar, with support from drones and a dedicated group of well-wishers. Since the morning of November 2, search parties have been actively covering areas including Mandavelipakkam, MRC Nagar, and R.A Puram.

Govindarajan Krishnan tragically passed away after a fall into the water, with his body discovered near the Adyar River as per reports on social media platforms. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his fall and the cause of his death.
His cremation happened in the Beseant Nagar Crematorium at 5 pm on 3 Novermber.
Who is Govindarajan Krishnan?
A 62-year-old man named Govindarajan Krishnan, a retired TCS employee and avid marathoner with over 100 marathons completed, had been reported missing in Chennai.
Last seen on CCTV around 8:30-8:45 a.m. on October 30, 2024, near Ananthapadmanabhaswamy Temple in Adyar, he was wearing a veshti, an aqua-blue shirt, and was barefoot.
He left home for a routine walk without carrying his phone, smartwatch, wallet, glasses, or any money, intending to return in 30 minutes. His family, deeply concerned, has searched extensively, covering hospitals across Chennai, retracing his usual routes, and combing through nearby areas, including Marina and Besant Nagar beaches.
Despite filing a police complaint, they are yet to receive an FIR, but efforts to locate him continue with CCTV tracking and a search team. Any information about his whereabouts would be greatly appreciated. Govindarajan Krishnan, pictured here, has been missing since the morning of October 30. Recent accounts from locals indicate that he was last spotted on Friday walking across the Thiru Vi Ka bridge and in the vicinity of Tholkappia Poonga.
