For those who are unfamiliar with Trisha, let us tell you, the cricketer was already selected for the State U-16 cricket team when she was just 8 years old.

By the time she turned 12, she was already playing for under 19 and under 23. The 17-year-old right handed batter and a right-arm leg-spinner from Hyderabad, has been doing pretty well in the domestic circuit.

 

In an earlier conversation, Trisha who is aged 17 and was born on 15 December, 2005. revealed that she started playing cricket when she was 3 years old. Her first ever coach was her father as she started playing at home with her father. She joined St. John’s Cricket Academy in Hyderabad and practiced under Srinivasan.

For those who are wondering about Trisha’s father, let us tell you, his father was a hockey player who played for the State during his younger days. With him working in ITC and also managing his gym, Reddy and his wife Madhavi were blessed with Trisha in 2005 and while Reddy would return home late often from his job and business, he would make sure that a toddler Trisha watched cricket matches on TV instead of cartoons at their home town having a population of 50,000.

Trisha’s hometown is Bhadrachalam and her father Ramireddy was a sportsman by nature who also played cricket as a member of the under-16 state team.

Later he started working as a fitness trainer at a gym. However, to make her daughter a professional cricketer, he quit his job.

As there wasn’t any cricket academy where Trisha’s family was living so they moved to Hyderabad when she was 6 years old.

The right handed batter joined the St. John’s Cricket Academy in Hyderabad and started practicing under Srinivasan sir.

As per Trisha’s words, her father was her biggest support And he used to accompany her for practice and even on the ground for her matches. Meanwhile, her mother took care of her dietary requirements.

Coming back to Trisha’s recent performance, let us tell you, in the Sunday’s match of U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, which was held at the JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom, Trisha shared a 48-run partnership with Soumya Tiwari.

In the fantastic partnership Tiwari made a total of 24 runs not out, and Trisha also made a total of 24 runs. This historic moment comes after India first made it to the final of the World Cup 18 years ago during the 2005 ODI World Cup.

The match which took place against England was loved by everyone as the opponents were all out at 68 in 17.1 overs.

England lost to India as the nation’s team scored 69/3 in 14 overs with Soumya Tiwari 24 not out, Gongadi Trisha 24, Hannah Baker 1/13, Grace Scrivens 1/13 by seven wickets.

At just the tender age of eight, she was already in the Hyderabad state U16 cricket team and by the time she was 12, she was playing the U19s and U23s.
