Who is Gordon Sargent?
Sargent has been a prodigy for as long as he can remember, and despite his 6-foot-1 height and 175-pound weight, he emanates a youthful vitality and thundering drive that far outweigh it.
When he was just nine years old, the native of Birmingham, Alabama, was given special permission to attend Jay Seawell’s summer golf camp at the University of Alabama. Despite the cutoff age being 10, Sargent’s mother assured Seawell that little Gordon would be allowed to compete.
One excellent example is Sargent’s short game. After a long day of practice, Sargent showed off his putting prowess by chipping a shot from the tee towards the hole. Sargent’s shot was just outside the mark after two precise touches. Seawall fell into a daze as a result.
The victories Sargent went on to capture in the Alabama Junior and Alabama State Amateurs were just the start of his accomplishments.

Just got in from walking the final four holes of Gordon Sargent's practice round. The hip speed is incredible. Like a young Tiger.
He hit it 40 yards by Max Homa and Justin Thomas on the 17th hole, reaching the top of the hill.
It's incredible speed.
